Naxos Greece : Agios Prokopios Beach

Hotel Proteas is built on the hillside of Stelida, only 5 km from the town (Chora) of Naxos and a five-minute walk from the stunning Agios Prokopios beach, which boasts white sands and crystal-clear waters. Agios Prokopios is one of Greece’s, and Naxos’ famous beaches and a deserving holder of a blue flag.

Agios Prokopios boasts a large selection of restaurants, taverns and bars, along with a supermarket, travel agents, and car, motorbike and bicycle rentals.

The area is perfectly situated and within easy distance of Naxos town and the resort of Agia Anna. Further along the coast from Agia Anna is the renowned Plaka Beach.

The Villages

Although part of the Cyclades, Naxos is renowned for its mountain villages and settlements. Spread out over the whole island, these villages provide the opportunity for visitors to experience our history, culture, traditions, and cuisine. Some of the better-known villages worth visiting are Chalki, Filoti, Apiranthos, Melanes, Sagri and Koronos.

Sightseeing

Portara, the Old Town of Chora Naxos, the Temple of Goddess Dimitra, the Sanctuary of the God Dionysos, the Kouros statue, the ancient aqueduct, and a plethora of churches are few of the sights not to be missed.

Geographically diverse, Naxos has a wide variety of activities on offer for its visitors.
